Far from Earth on a different terrain

The light speed can make one go insane

Never met the enemy

But looking at them, they are ugly

The hologram shows their worst behavior

So we’re protecting the colonists, we’re their savior

Without us everything will fall

The savages would conquer all

This is what we all signed up for

To make sure this doesn’t happen anymore

Now looking from the space station, I’m high up

Sitting behind a desk, drinking from a cup

As the new generation goes off into star ships

They’ll watch their friends get blown into bits

Can’t question it, I’m just one

Besides, someone has to fire the gun

  1. Interesting poem on how we are all just cogs in a wheel, and doing what we are led to believe is right. 🙂 At least that’s how I read it.

    1. I like your take on it Marie. That is one way to look at it. Thank you for checking it out!
